Our very own Ox Nche.

Born and bred in Bloemfontein, Ox Nche is a South African professional rugby player who also represented his home country in the 2023 Rugby World cup in France. He has played for several clubs and has become one of the top players in the South African Rugby Union.

BRIEF BACKGROUND.

Retshegofaditswe Nche was born in Bloemfontein, South Africa on the 23rd of July 1995 and is popularly known as Ox, a nickname derived from his strength and power on the rugby field. He is 176 cm tall and weighs 117 kg. He has black hair and brown eyes.

PERSONAL LIFE.

Ox has three siblings and his sister is also a professional rugby player famously known as Fox Nche. She also plays as a loosehead prop. His mother is Kuitemetse Nche and he has not spoken about his father yet. He is dating Katya Kuropas who is a model and actress.

EDUCATION AND CAREER.

The Springboks.

He attended HTS Louis Botha, which is a rugby school in Bloemfontein. He then studied a degree in Geography and Statistics at the University of Free State where he played for the Shimlas in the Varsity Cup competition in 2015. In 2016, Ox made his professional debut for the Cheetahs in Super Rugby. He won the Currie Cup Player of the Year in that same year. Nche moved to the Sharks in 2019.

Nche has represented South Africa in several international tournaments. He participated in the 2015 World Rugby under 20 Championship and also played against the French Barbarians in 2017.  He is currently playing for the Sharks and is in the national team, the Springboks. He gave a renowned performance in the 2023 Rugby World Cup in France after he had suffered an injury to his pectoral muscle earlier that year in July.
