BEFORE NOW.

Artificial beauty has become a part of our normal existence especially in Africa and it has become more normal and acceptable nowadays be it temporary or permanent. It has become a necessity. It used to be done mostly for special occasions like weddings. Makeup products used to be scarce and relatively expensive and unpopular especially in rural areas.

ALTERNATIVE PRODUCTS.

People would burn rubber and use it as eyebrow pencil or eye liner. Baby powder was used as face powder to control oiling of the face and even sweating under arms. Nowadays people have access to makeup products and this art has improved over time. Women love to look beautiful and quite a number of them has come to believe that the art of makeup can help them look better than they look naturally. If it is properly done and you dress properly (story for another day), then class differences in societies can be hidden under makeup. For some people it has become an addiction such that they cannot step out of their houses without wearing makeup.

SELF-LOVE

Self-confidence and esteem have been boosted in lives of many ladies through this art of makeup because of its ability to boost the mentality of being beautiful. Nobody likes to feel ugly or to appear ugly. Some people, both male and female, have even taken things to another level by trying to change the shade of their skin colors (complexion) and this is widely known as bleaching. It’s another perception that you look more beautiful when you are light in complexion. It works for some but for others, it visibly damages their skin. On the other note, it is really not necessary to bleach since we have makeup for all shades of skin color.

IT’S A LANGUAGE TOO.

The art of makeup has also been used to reflect a message in the entertainment industry, for instance a weirdo character can be depicted with the kind of makeup the same way makeup for a comedy is different from that of a romantic film. Some people take pride in using makeup to showcase their culture. This means makeup was there from a distant past but it now more advanced and suitable to wear anywhere and anytime. And again, this has made many people to earn a living through this easy to learn art.

IT’S STILL COOL TO KEEP YOUR FACE BARE.

What would we say about those who do not feel comfortable if they wear makeup or whose skin is sensitive to these beauty products? They still walk around with their heads high up in their natural looks. There are some people who just look more beautiful without makeup. Everybody is different, some look juvenile with makeup some look older. This brings us to the idea that beauty is in your mind. If you think you look beautiful, then you will appear beautiful in the eyes of others and will keep the positive energy. Therefore, makeup is coated with a positive mindset, that you are beautiful and never allow anyone to make you feel or think otherwise. This only comes with self-love.

Makeup or no makeup, you are beautiful or handsome in your own unique way. Dont forget to blend the art of makeup with GOOD CHARACTER. Cheers!
