After applying for a job, you may or may not get a positive response. Well, if you do get a positive response from the recruiters you will have to be prepared for an interview. It could be virtual or in person / face to face. You need to be presentable whether it is virtual or in person. Usually, your dress code should match the kind of job you applied for. An interview grants you the opportunity to impress the recruiters. You have to be confident and display a good and positive attitude.
TIPS.
ABOUT YOURSELF.
When asked to talk about yourself, give information that is necessary and related to the job. Don’t go about talking of your pets and brothers and sisters.
KNOW YOU CURRICULUM VITAE.
You must know everything that is on your CV. A Curriculum Vitae summarizes your skills, education and relevant work experience. It is used to showcase or sell your abilities to potential employers. Every CV must be tailored according to the requirements of the job position you are applying for. Therefore, you should know every detail on your CV.
KNOW HOW TO DO EVERYTHING ON YOUR CV.
The other important thing is to know how to do everything that your CV says you can do. Employers tend to pick one or two things from your CV that you said you can do and ask you to explain how to do it in the correct manner. For example, if you apply for house keeping you should know how to clean a toilet as in what to do first and how, and what chemicals should you use. That sounds cheap but nailing that question may land you your desired job.
DESCRIBE NEGATIVE SITUATIONS IN A POSITIVE WAY.
During an interview, employers are most likely to ask you to demonstrate your skills and experience in a negative scenario. They will ask how you handled difficult situations that you have come across. Make sure you explain the negative situation in a positive way. Describe the situation, explain the actions you took to solve the problem and what skills did you apply and then the end result. You should be able to explain or demonstrate how skills and experience would be of benefit to the employer or interviewer.
KNOW SOME DETAILS ABOUT THE CRUISELINE.
Research more about the company and the role you are applying for before sitting for an interview. This prepares or equips you with knowledge that you can use to your advantage in an interview. Knowing much about a cruise line will give an impression that you are really interested in working for that company.
PRACTICE TO ANSWER COMMON INTERVIEW QUESTIONS.
Prepare yourself to answer common interview questions like ‘Tell us about yourself, What’s your biggest motivation etc.’. know basics about customer service. Don’t speak negative things about your previous employer, try to be positive always.

Keep a smile on your face!
