There are different types of questions including personal questions, work related problem, solving and decision making and customer service as well as communication skills.

PERSONALITY QUESTIONS.

These allow the recruiter to get to know you as an individual. Answer the question in a manner that aligns with the company’s culture. Examples are; Tell me about yourself, why do you want to work on a cruise ship as opposed to shoreside, and What is your biggest strength and weakness? Make sure to display professionalism, patience and effective communication skills. You may be asked to rate your customer service and do it with confidence and honesty. How do you ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of your work area is another question.

These assess one’s ability to think critically, make effective decisions and analyze situations. These skills are important because its not always when you have to report issues but rather make your own decisions in accordance with the culture and rules of the company.

WORK RELATED QUESTIONS.

These questions are for verifying your qualifications. The interviewer will focus on uncovering your skills, experience, and ability to perform the tasks and responsibilities of the job. They check your flexibility in relation to working hours and how well you can handle pressure. You will be asked about your previous workplace and always try to say positive things about it.
