There is more to life than marriage and having children. There is a lot to do with your life besides getting married and bearing children. The world needs your contribution for it to balance.
Yes, men are physically stronger than women by nature but both genders were given equal mental capacity and the right to choose what they want in this life. We both have the ability to make judgements and make decisions accordingly. Those decisions determine how our future will be. Whatever you do with your life today will determine your tomorrow.
Many women, especially in Africa, think that the greatest achievement in life is getting married and bearing children. They fail to remember that that our social life is fast changing and you are most likely to be a struggling single mother if you do not empower yourself. People are no longer valuing relationships and marriages as it used to be back then.
So, instead of rushing into marriage, build your carrier or a business. Develop yourself and be self-dependent financially. This will make life easier for you and your family especially if you get to have kids later. I’m not saying men are not important but women should not rely on them entirely as they are human beings and cannot be trusted 100%.
Actually, nowadays men are looking for independent women because life is becoming difficult every day. Choose to contribute something instead of waiting for someone to provide everything for you. That way you can be a free woman.
Some women are stuck in abusive relationships because they don’t have a starting point and they depend fully on their partners for everything. In fear of losing those making provisions for them, they endure all the pain and some die in the process.
Try to find a source of your own income even if it’s little money. That could help you mentally and emotionally. At least you will have a voice and be able to speak up when things go wrong. You will get the respect you deserve from your partner.
Ladies don’t get married to someone for wrong reasons. Marriage is not a ticket out of poverty or any difficult situation. Some people may have succeeded in making you think that getting married to a rich man can take away your sorrows but that’s not always the case.
All you need to know is that you should study and pursue a career of your choice or start a business, be independent and build a future for your kids. Marriage is not a goal!
