Celebrity Cruises is a wholly owned subsidiary of Royal Caribbean Group formed in 1988. Celebrity Cruises was founded by the Greece-based Chandris Group, and merged with Royal Caribbean Cruise Line in 1997. Its headquarters are in Miami, Florida and Celebrity’s signature logo is an “Χ” displayed on the funnel of Celebrity ships, and is the Greek letter chi, for “Chandris”, according to Wikipedia.
It is said that celebrity cruises have 18 ships in operation with each one being unique. Celebrity Ascent and Celebrity Beyond are the biggest ships owned by Celebrity cruises with a capacity of 3260 passengers each.
