GUEST RELATIONS EXECUTIVE.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate arrival lists to welcome guests
  • Attend to special guests (e.g. VIPs) and answer their inquiries
  • Assist in preparing welcome folders like room service menus, area descriptions
  • Provide information about amenities, area and venues and promote services
  • Predict guest needs and build rapport with customers
  • Offer assistance with certain tasks (e.g. confirming travel arrangements, taking messages)
  • Address customer complaints and escalate to Guest Relations Manager when needed
  • Record information in the logbook daily
  • Ensure compliance with health safety and quality standards

RECEPTIONIST.

A receptionist is a first point of contact in a hotel and welcomes guests as they arrive.

Responsibilities

  • Greeting guests on arrival to the hotel and making them instantly feel at ease
  • Processing check-ins and explaining key facilities within the hotel including the fitness center and on-site restaurant
  • Taking bookings by phone, email or walk ins and recording all details
  • Providing advice and information about local attractions, restaurants and transport options
  • Creating final bills at check-out and processing payments
  • Helping guests with special requests, for example wake-up services and taxi bookings
  • Taking messages and passing them on to guests promptly
  • Dealing with guest complaints or issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Coordinating with housekeeping staff to ensure rooms are available for check-in

HOSTESS.

A Hostess is responsible for greeting, welcoming and seating customers as they enter a restaurant or dining area. You should have solid organizational and people skills to make sure guests have a positive dining experience from the moment they arrive till their departure.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome guests to the venue
  • Monitor waiting lists
  • Manage reservations
  • Escort customers to assigned dining or bar areas
  • Provide menus and announce Waiter/Waitress’s name
  • Greet customers upon their departure
  • Coordinate with wait staff about available seating options
  • Maintain a clean reception area
  • Cater to guests who require extra attention (e.g. children, elderly)
  • Answer incoming calls and address customers’ queries
  • Assist wait staff as needed
