GUEST RELATIONS EXECUTIVE.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate arrival lists to welcome guests
- Attend to special guests (e.g. VIPs) and answer their inquiries
- Assist in preparing welcome folders like room service menus, area descriptions
- Provide information about amenities, area and venues and promote services
- Predict guest needs and build rapport with customers
- Offer assistance with certain tasks (e.g. confirming travel arrangements, taking messages)
- Address customer complaints and escalate to Guest Relations Manager when needed
- Record information in the logbook daily
- Ensure compliance with health safety and quality standards
RECEPTIONIST.
A receptionist is a first point of contact in a hotel and welcomes guests as they arrive.
Responsibilities
- Greeting guests on arrival to the hotel and making them instantly feel at ease
- Processing check-ins and explaining key facilities within the hotel including the fitness center and on-site restaurant
- Taking bookings by phone, email or walk ins and recording all details
- Providing advice and information about local attractions, restaurants and transport options
- Creating final bills at check-out and processing payments
- Helping guests with special requests, for example wake-up services and taxi bookings
- Taking messages and passing them on to guests promptly
- Dealing with guest complaints or issues in a timely and professional manner
- Coordinating with housekeeping staff to ensure rooms are available for check-in
HOSTESS.
A Hostess is responsible for greeting, welcoming and seating customers as they enter a restaurant or dining area. You should have solid organizational and people skills to make sure guests have a positive dining experience from the moment they arrive till their departure.

- Welcome guests to the venue
- Monitor waiting lists
- Manage reservations
- Escort customers to assigned dining or bar areas
- Provide menus and announce Waiter/Waitress’s name
- Greet customers upon their departure
- Coordinate with wait staff about available seating options
- Maintain a clean reception area
- Cater to guests who require extra attention (e.g. children, elderly)
- Answer incoming calls and address customers’ queries
- Assist wait staff as needed
