The Royal Caribbean Group was formerly known as Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. It was founded in 1997 by Arne Wilhelmsen, having its headquarters in Miami, Florida in the United States of America. Currently it has a number of subsidiaries which include Celebrity Cruises, Silversea Cruise and Royal Caribbean International.
It has a fleet of about sixty-eight ships across its five brands. Just like me, one could be curious about the differences among the subsidiaries. Definitely it takes a great deal of creativity and innovation to for the same company to deliver different experiences to their guests.
ROYAL CARIBBEAN INTERNATIONAL.
This cruise line has been operating for many years, delivering exceptional guest experience. It operates from quite a number of ports (departure ports) to several destinations. There are thirty-two departure ports, fifteen in North America, four in Europe, five in Asia and The Pacific, three in Latin America and the Caribbean, two in Australia, one on the Arabian Gulf, another in Portugal and then one in Athens, Greece.
Royal Caribbean fleet has the biggest ships in the world. The fleet has twenty-seven ships with Grandeur of the Seas being the oldest and smallest with a capacity of 1992 passengers.
CELEBRITY CRUISES.
Founded in 1988 and then merged with Royal Caribbean Cruises ltd in 1997. It is known for its outstanding services and guest experience. They provide great entertainment and their food is known to be always delicious. Celebrity Cruises prices are slightly higher than those of the Royal Caribbean International. It ships have lower capacity than that of Royal Caribbean International.
Celebrity Cruises put more emphasis on the services provided for the guests. A small number of passengers on the vessel will make it achievable to deliver highly personalized services and great dining experience. That is what makes the prices to be high.
It has sixteen ships of which the biggest can accommodate 3260 passengers at a time.
SILVERSEA CRUISES.
It is an ultra-luxury and expedition cruise line. It also called the ‘jewel in the crown’ of the Royal Caribbean Group. It cruises across over nine-hundred destinations. Their ships are all-inclusive and offer 24-hour butler service to every suite. Silversea Cruises was founded in 1994 with its headquarters in Monaco.
It offers all-inclusive fares on its thirteen ships. This makes it very expensive but it is worth it. Every other expense is included in the price.
