Kerishnie Naicker is a pharmacist and also well known for being former Miss South Africa in 1997. Nickers was born in 1980 from an Indian descent family. She grew up in Durban, South Africa.
She became the first South African from an Indian descent family to ne crowned Miss South Africa. At that time she raised awareness on tuberculosis.
According to her Instagram page, she was accidentally injured by a tourist a couple of months ago. She was accidentally tripped whilst trying to take a selfie and she fell down a couple of stairs.
She was rushed to Netcare hospital immediately by helicopter and spent almost four months in hospital. This incident happened at the lighthouse of Cape Point.
The 44 year old appreciated the fact that she was not injured in the head otherwise it would have been a different story. She only injured her leg and now she is on a wheelchair.
Our hope is that she recovers soon and get back on her feet again. It is not easy to be unable to use your body as normal as you are used to all of a sudden.
“Even though I’m thankful that I did not injure my head, I did incur a serious injury. I was accidentally injured on 1st May by a tourist taking photos. These pics were taken during May and June this year. Last photo was taken minutes before I was injured. Thank you for all your well wishes and concern. Every unaided step these days is a celebration,” said Naicker on her Instagram.
Writing these kind of words on her Instagram could mean she is dealing with the sudden change of things the right way. We wish her a speedy recovery.
